THE APPRENTICES
The Game Changing Kingdom

Today's Message:
'counter culture kingdom'

These blessings strike us as very odd. On the one hand, they sound like good news—especially for those who are beaten, abandoned, down-and-out, hurt, weak, discouraged, and oppressed. On the other hand, the blessings completely invert the cultural norms of Jesus’ day and ours. We expect Him to declare the middle-class mantras of our time: “Blessed are the wealthy, for they have everything they need.” “Blessed are the healthy, for they will prevail in the struggle for survival.” “Blessed are the educated, for their knowledge gives them superior leverage.” “Blessed are the powerful, for they call the shots.” “Blessed are the famous, for they always have admirers.” But Jesus sees greater blessing in qualities we usually dismiss or avoid.

Humility is not an abject, defeated attitude. To the contrary, it recognizes the “divine image” in everyone and refuses to manipulate or exploit anyone. It springs from a profound sense of the Father’s sovereignty and a deep trust in His provision and love. It sees life as bigger and more than “me” and dedicates itself to “us.” It eschews the trivial honors that commonly divide us but respects all people for their greatest honor of all—being created in the image of God. And to the extent that we nurture this “poor in spirit” attitude we discover the secret of contentment and productivity.

About Us

Our Beliefs

We believe in God. “God” describes the being that made this world and this universe. “God” is comprised of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe God created man in His image. We are comprised of body, soul, and mind and this reflects the tripartite image of God.  Due to sin, mankind experiences separation from God. Due to this separation, God actively pursues redemption of men through Jesus.

We believe Jesus is God's Son, a Savior to those who will receive Him as Lord, the answer to our guilt, and our example for living. Jesus, as the Son of God, is the foundation upon which all we preach and teach finds authority and meaning.

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word, worthy of our study and application. We have no creed but Christ; no book but the Bible.

We believe there is but one Church, made up of all those who are personally related to God through His Son Jesus. We encourage the unity of all Christians, and believe this unity can be achieved when love for Christ is greater than love for man-made traditions. We do not claim to be the only Christians, but strive to be Christians only.

We believe real Christian unity is found within the diversity of its members. We are made up of Christians of many different church backgrounds, including those with no church background at all. In regards to ethnicity, families of many different backgrounds worship and serve Christ side by side. Having Christ in common focuses the church, builds relationships, and strengthens our families and community.

At Forum Christian Church, we describe ourselves as a "Christ-centered, Bible-teaching, non-denominational church."

Christ-centered refers to the Lordship or authority of Jesus Christ in our church. We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and that our church belongs to Him. Upon confession of faith, individuals respond to Christ through repentance and water immersion. We believe this occurs when God’s Spirit is working in a person’s life.
