BLACKBERRIES ARE US

We will pick blackberries from a local patch on Saturdays, July 11 and July 18. We will meet at the church building at 7 a.m. and return no later than 12 p.m. All are welcome and there is no cost. You will need to bring containers for blackberries and wear long sleeve shirts and pants. Please sign up as space is limited.
LOSERS
Leader — Grant Baxter
Are you an overachiever? Become a Loser! Take a load off and rub shoulders with other Losers. Be accountable to other Losers. Walk, talk, and weigh in. This is a men’s only group. We will meet every Saturday beginning June 6 at 7 a.m. in the FLC. Cost is $20 for a t-shirt. All men are invited.
KATY TRAIL SCENIC BICYCLE RIDE
Leader — Tom Dresser
The Katy Trail between McBaine and Rocheport is one of the most scenic places on earth. The trail is absolutely flat and the environment is absolutely beautiful. The Missouri River and the limestone cliffs are proof of God’s greatest creations. Distance is 8 miles each way, and a snack is planned for the midpoint. A slow pace of 8 mph is planned and the exertion is equivalent to two hours of walking on the flat. Date is Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10 a.m., approximately 3 hours total time.
SUMMER BOOK CLUB (FICTION)
Leader — Jared Wortman
We will meet and discuss classic works of fiction. Group members should attend having read the assigned book and prepared for discussion. We will read Flannery O’Connor’s Wise Blood, Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov, and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. All adults are welcome. We will meet on Mondays, June 8, July 13 and August 10 at 12 p.m. at McAlister’s Deli. Cost is the cost of each book.
SUMMER BOOK CLUB

This group will meet once a week at the Christian Campus House to discuss selected chapters from Dallas Willard’s The Divine Conspiracy. Group members should attend having read the assigned chapter and prepared for discussion. All adults are welcome. We will meet every Wednesday starting June 3 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. The book can be purchased from Amazon.com for $16.29.
